Candle Care

Trim the Wick: Always trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before lighting. This helps prevent soot buildup and ensures a cleaner, brighter burn. Check out our Wick Trimmers here: Wick Trimmers

Keep the Wax Pool Clean: Remove any debris, such as wick trimmings or matches, from the wax pool to prevent uneven burning and smoking.

Proper Storage: Store candles in a cool, dark place. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or intense indoor lighting, as this can cause fading and affect fragrance.

First Burn: Allow the candle to burn long enough for the entire surface to become liquid, about 3-4 hours. This prevents tunneling and helps the candle burn evenly in the future.

Refrain from Burning to the Bottom: Avoid burning candles all the way to the bottom to prevent overheating the holder and potential breakage. Burn until 1/4" wax is left.

Burn Time: Do not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This helps maintain an even wax pool and extends the life of the candle.

Tips and Tricks

Avoid Drafts: Place candles away from drafts, vents, and fans to prevent uneven burning, dripping, and soot.

Extinguishing the Flame: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Blowing out a candle can cause hot wax to splatter. Check out our candle snuffers here: Candle Snuffers

Avoid Moving Liquid Wax: Do not move a candle while the wax is liquefied to prevent spills and burns.

Safety Precautions: Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

Proper Ventilation: Ensure the room is well-ventilated but not drafty to avoid smoke buildup and allow for even burning.

Double-Check Extinguished Flame: Make sure the flame is completely out and the wick is no longer glowing before leaving the room.
